UKTV food award for Ayrshire Business
Fencebay have won the Scottish regional final of UKTV food awards coming third in the United Kingdom Final.
Bernard and Jill Thain have developed their Farm at Fencebay over the last 20 years to revive the fish smoking industry which has brought fame to the village of Fairlie in the past. Now using their own boat and local fishermen they have a wide variety of fresh and smoked fish and shellfish.
Fencebay sells a wide variety of fresh fish and shellfish, with an emphasis on its own and locally sourced produce. At the farm shop customers can find a selection of fresh fish including cod, haddock and monkfish. Fencebay also has a smokehouse where fish and meats are smoked in traditional brick building kilns. At the restaurant you can eat in an intimate atmosphere and enjoy fish brought straight from the sea to your table.
