Success for Appetite for Ayrshire

VisitScotland introduced Appetite for Ayrshire for the first time in April with 22 local businesses participating.

50,000 copies of the leaflet were distributed via The Herald, with another 50,000 door-drop to the south-side of Glasgow, and 50,000 door-drop in Ayrshire.

VisitScotland co-ordinated a PR campaign which resulted in good press coverage within the national press and held on-line and printed competitions. It also worked with The List with an online competition and distribution to their e-base.

VisitScotland is currently undertaking evaluation of the event but have had positive feedback from participants so far. After contacting businesses it is reported that there have been approximately 850 bookings in terms of people which on average would be approximately 38 diners taking up the offer per business.
