Anniversary couples like Madonna and Guy Ritchie – who recently celebrated their copper wedding anniversary – are being encouraged to celebrate their special day in style with a themed visit to Scotland including rekindling their passion in our very own wildly romantic Robert Burns Country.

Married couples are being given help finding some of the best locations and things to do in Scotland to mark individual anniversaries depending on how long they have been married on a new section of VisitScotland's weddings website www.visitscotland.com/scottishwedding

Ayrshire and Arran have featured favourably within the website with the site suggesting that for their Leather anniversary (three years) couples should celebrate with a visit to the Isle of Arran to purchase high quality Scottish leather gifts from Alan Mackenzie Leather.

When couples reach their Lace Anniversary (13 years) they should visit Darvel. In the Irvine Valley, Darvel was once home to intricate lace, produced in the traditional way and at one point produced half of the UK’s lace and exported examples of work across the world.

For the major milestone of their Ruby Wedding Anniversary the website suggests couples should show that their love is like a red, red rose as they celebrate 40 years together with a visit to the wildly romantic Robert Burns Country.
