VisitScotland’s Business Tourism Unit (BTU) has hosted its biannual workshop, Scotland Means Business (SMB). The purpose of this initiative was to increase awareness and enhance the status of Scotland as a world-class destination for meetings, incentive travel and corporate hospitality.
The event offered the exclusive opportunity for buyers to meet a wide range of partners, one-to-one and under one roof, giving them an incomparable insight into the diversity Scotland has to offer.
Approximately 55 buyers from North America, Russia, India, Germany, Spain and the UK attended the event along with 50 Scottish partners: venues, suppliers and event providers. Buyers attending were also given the opportunity to take advantage of familiarisation (FAM) visits pre or post the event (Russian and UK trip, and US, Spanish and German trip). Ayrshire hosted the US, Spanish and German trip.
The FAM trip allowed the group to visit some of Ayrshire gems including Hill House, Westin Turnberry, Culzean, Cloncaird Castle, Skyhigh Falconry, Enterkin, Lochgreen House Hotel, and the Western Hosue Hotel.
