Business Tourism Networking Event
VisitScotland's Business Tourism Unit’s Southern Region held a networking event at The Park Hotel, Kilmarnock. The networking event was specifically aimed at businesses involved in the meetings and incentive sector across Southern Scotland.
Delegates were given the opportunity to meet VisitScotland’s Business Tourism team to find out how they could support their own marketing activity and at the same time network with other local businesses with similar interests in the meetings industry
Bath-based consultant Joanna Aspin, gave an insight into “Conference Confidence”, touching on a range of topics from getting the best out of enquiries to Corporate Social Responsibility policies.
Delegates also heard from Lindsay Brown, UK Marketing Manager at the BTU and their newly appointed PR agency Ticker PR on how to maximise PR. Caroline Smith, Regional Business Tourism Manager for the South gave an update on Southern activities and events. One such event is the region’s Southern Showcase being held at The Balmoral, Edinburgh on Wednesday 8th October.
Some 29 partners from across the region registered to attend the event. An online survey was sent partners after the event. Of those that replied 100% have said it was a worthwhile event and would attend a similar event in the future.
“I found Joanna inspirational. I also think that emailing her presentation is fab and will save myself from researching a lot of areas covered myself” Mongreenan House
“I felt this event was very worth while attending and I came away with some good ideas to work on. Joanna Aspin in particular was very informative and approachable.” Katy Lockett from Traquair House
