The increasingly popular Callander Jazz & Blues Festival has secured funding from EventScotland to make the 2008 event the biggest yet.
The national events agency has announced an award of £6,000 to help widen the reach of the festival with programme activity in Aberfoyle and Loch Katrine.
The festival has the pick of local, national and international jazz artists, alongside the cream of the UK blues scene, performing live in an area of outstanding natural beauty over the weekend of 3-5 October.
The festival has grown into a popular annual event after winning funding assistance from the VisitScotland Challenge Fund in year one.
EventScotland’s Regional Events programme supports the development of sporting and cultural events and festivals taking place outside the cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow, and to date has supported more than 150 events across the country, investing almost £2million through nine rounds of its regional events funding programme.
The next deadline for applications to the programme is 1 August 2008. More information can be found at: www.EventScotland.org
