The legendary whisky, wildlife and stunning landscapes of the Isle of Islay are now more accessible than ever, as Loganair introduces a new fare structure that includes flights to the island from Glasgow from just £29 one-way.
The British Airways franchise partner is launching low, one-way fares throughout its network, which are already on sale through www.ba.com for travel after 25 March. The Glasgow-Islay flight boasts the least expensive lead-in price of just £29 one-way—although passengers will need to book in advance to get the best deals.
The new pricing affects most of the airline’s routes, including services from Glasgow to Benbecula and Stornoway (from £49 one-way), Aberdeen to Orkney or Shetland (from £42 or £46), Inverness to Shetland (from £39) and Edinburgh to Wick (from £49).
Jim Cameron, Chief Executive of Loganair said: “We expect these fares to prove very popular and would advise customers to book early to access the lowest fares. The new rates are particularly attractive for visitors to Scotland who are looking for flexibility in their travel plans, and wish to explore the beautiful scenery and culture of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.”
VisitScotland area director Iain Close said: “Islay has a huge amount to offer visitors, not just for the scenery, but also for its exceptional distilleries and wildlife. Making access to the island from Glasgow more affordable presents a real opportunity to grow the leisure tourism market.”
