Energy: Securing Future Supplies and Alternative Sources
Thursday 25 January 2007
9.30am - 12.30pm
Falkirk Enterprise Action Trust (FEAT), Grangemouth
The cost of energy has risen dramatically in the last 18 months, with consequences for every household and business in the UK. So what steps are being taken?
Businesses in the Forth Valley can find out at this third event in the 2006/07 Forth Valley Resource Efficiency Forum series. Rising energy prices have led to a review of UK energy policy, an increased focus on conserving energy, development of new technologies and also resurrection of some old ones.
The purpose of this event is to provide Forth Valley businesses with the opportunity to hear what steps are being taken to secure future supplies and conserve and utilise renewable or alternative sources of energy.
There will be a presentation by Richard Bellingham, Head of Energy Policy with the Scottish Executive, who will outline the current state and future of energy provision in Scotland, and summarise the recent Scottish Executive Response to the UK Energy Review. There will also be presentations by representatives from The Carbon Trust, the Energy Savings Trust, Green Cat Renewables and Forestry Commission Scotland.
Attendance is free, but delegates should book to ensure a place at the event. For further information on booking a place, send an email to: elene.dawkins@scotent.co.uk
