Challenge Fund supports success of Callander Festival

‘Jazz up the Trossachs’ was the ambition of Callander’s first Jazz & Blues Festival earlier this month, and with over 1,000 attendees from all over the UK and overseas, the mission was more than accomplished.

The festival was just the latest initiative in the Argyll, Loch Lomond & Forth Valley area to benefit from VisitScotland’s £1 million Challenge Fund, which is available for well-researched, new, collaborative marketing projects from groups of tourism businesses with a strong customer focus.

The Callander Jazz & Blues Festival was awarded £10,000 from the fund to support a marketing programme that included press advertising, radio, poster distribution and even car stickers.

The festival attracted jazz lovers to a ‘jumping’ Callander from diverse countries including Norway, Ireland and the USA. Dates for next year’s festival have already been set as 28-30 September 2007.
