Challenge Fund Success Continues for Local Groups

Campbeltown Air Show, the International Swamp Soccer Tournament in Dunoon and the development of a West Coast Whisky Trail are the area’s latest successes to be awarded marketing support through VisitScotland’s Challenge Fund.

Campbeltown Air Show receives £4,000 to market the resurrected air show, to help boost visitor numbers to the area.

The Swamp Soccer Tournament—quite literally soccer played in a swamp—has received an award of £11,600 to market the event, which has great potential for future growth with satellite television already expressing an interest in coverage.

The West Coast Whisky Trail, bringing the distilleries of the west coast together for the development of a unique whisky trail to rival that of Speyside, has been successful in obtaining £24,400 to market and promote the new trail.

Groups in the area have now attracted nearly £130,000 in funding for projects with a combined value of nearly £343,000.
