Dundee City’s Fest ’n’ Furious wins funding

EventScotland, Scotland’s national events agency, has announced that Dundee’s Fest ‘n’ Furious event has been successful in the latest round of its Regional Events Programme.

The Event will be awarded £7,000 to help deliver an increased marketing campaign aimed at attracting visitors to the city for the event.

Sheena Wellington, Creative Director of Fest ‘n’ Furious said: “It’s fantastic to be given this support at such a critical point in the Festival’s development.

“In the last three years Fest ‘n’ Furious has become a major fixture in Dundee’s cultural calendar, and the funding from EventScotland will enable us to raise its profile nationally and encourage more people from all over Scotland to visit Dundee for the event.”

The Regional Events Programme supports the development of sporting and cultural events and festivals taking place outside the cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow. The next deadline for applications to the programme is August 1, 2008 – for more information visit
