Breakfast at the falls

Former Miss Scotland Asiling Friel brought a touch of Hollywood glamour to the area recently in a bid to bring visitors to the area this winter and encourage them to explore all things white over the coming months.

The 25 year old model from Glasgow has joined forces with VisitScotland to pose as one of her all time idols, Audrey Hepburn, in a white, Scottish version of the iconic Breakfast at Tiffany’s image at the Falls of Bruar in Perthshire.

It marks the start of VisitScotland’s Winter White campaign, which showcases some of the best things to do and see at this time of year.

VisitScotland area director, Vicki Miller said:

“Perthshire and Angus & Dundee is a magical place at this time of year and the Winter White campaign shows visitors that there is always more to do and see during a fantastic winter break here.

“Whether they are interested in our stunning white landscapes, climbing our snowcapped mountains, winter wildlife spotting or simply enjoying a glass of white wine after a sightseeing or shopping trip, this area has something for everyone in winter.

“We are committed to working with the industry to grow tourism revenues by 50% by 2015. One of the challenges for all businesses is to increase the volume of visitors coming to Scotland throughout the year. This campaign can help boost visitor numbers during a traditionally quieter time of year by showing holidaymakers that Scotland’s a must visit winter destination.”

Hotels across Perthshire and Angus are participating in the campaign by offering special winter accommodation deals with a number of retail, food and activites discounts to be had. These include Achray House Hotel, Atholl Arms Hotel, Claymore Hotel, Kenmore Hotel and Scotland’s Hotel.
