Angus & Dundee needs you

Golf will be high on the agenda for VisitScotland Angus & Dundee with the forthcoming Open Championship returning to Carnoustie.

Local residents will be encouraged to pick up a registration form from any of the Tourist Information Centres in the Angus & Dundee area. Quality will be paramount to the success of the initiative with the VisitScotland quality assurance team ensuring temporary accommodation is of a high standard.

The warm welcome Scotland is famed for will be vital to the success of hosting the event. Not only will residents have the opportunity to provide accommodation they will also be able to act as ambassadors for the area by giving help and advice on the best things to see and do in Angus and Dundee.

“This is an excellent opportunity for Angus & Dundee to be highlighted as a quality holiday destination with golf at the forefront of our tourism product, said Patrick O’Shaughnessy, VisitScotland Angus & Dundee area director. “We want to be able to offer everyone accommodation that fits all budgets and gives visitors the opportunity to stay close to the action but also have the opportunity to explore other parts of the region”, added Mr O’Shaughnessy.

Accommodation providers currently working with VisitScotland will also be encouraged to allocate accommodation. Through visitscotland.com, providers will have the opportunity to market their accommodation solely for golfing visitors for the duration of The Open.
