Aberdeen Convention Bureau, in partnership with Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, Perth Convention Bureau and the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, held a successful ‘Energy Breakfast’ event at the IMEX Tradeshow in Frankfurt earlier this month.

The four partners, which make up the Energy Cities Alliance, hosted 19 association buyers and media representatives before starting a full day of appointments with buyers in a bid to exchange information and attract more energy conferences to Aberdeen and the other partner destinations.

Jacky Selway, Business Tourism Manager of the Aberdeen Convention Bureau said: “The ultimate aim is for associations and corporate clients around the world to recognise our cities as being dynamic and energetic centres, offering clients access to a network of exciting conference destinations.”

The breakfast was hailed as a great success with a number of strong leads identified within the energy sector and beyond.

The Energy Cities Alliance intends to build on the success the Energy Breakfast by making it a signature event at IMAX and also plan holding a similar event at EIBTM in Barcelona in December.
