Two of Scotland's most popular female folk singers will perform at the Stonehaven Folk Festival this summer, to celebrate the event's 20th anniversary and organisers are offering local businesses an opportunity to take part through sponsorship.
Following on from last year's event, which was the highest profile and biggest budget to date, concerts from Barbara Dickson and Eddi Reader will be the highlights this year, which runs from July 10th - 13th inclusive. Other perfomers include the Battlefield Band, Cabrach, Michael Marra and Mike Silver, while an aqua ceilidh in the town's open air swimming pool, and the Late Nite Blues concert, are among some of the regular events which will feature as part of the popular north east event.
Event organisers have expressed concerns over accommodating some of the main acts, most of which will play in the town hall, which only seats 300. The voluntary group is appealing for sponsorship from local businesses. Anyone interested in helping should visit www.stonehavenfolkfestival.co.uk
