Aberdeen Convention Bureau has become one of the founding partners of the global Energy Cities Alliance, alongside the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, Calgary TELUS Convention Centre and Perth (Australia) Convention Bureau.
Jacky Selway, Business Tourism Manager at the Aberdeen Convention Bureau says, “The Energy Cities Alliance is a positive step in obtaining a competitive edge for Aberdeen, particularly in the field of energy-related conferences, and is of great benefit to the city.
“Aberdeen, known as the ‘oil capital of Europe’ is one of the key energy cities, already attracting a variety of international conferences. To develop and capitalise on this existing market, a special branding has been established to position the four cities as a group sharing common goals. Together we aspire to share the world’s best practice as convention destinations.”
Jacky continues, “This initiative is exciting as it allows the three convention bureaux and convention centre to share knowledge and offer each other support. Being a part of this strategic alliance allows Aberdeen Convention Bureau to maximise on all sales leads and opportunities to attract conferences to the city.”
