Improved facilities for Aberdeen Airport

A £2 million re-development project has begun at Aberdeen Airport, promising improved security measures and more convenient access for travellers.

The programme will include a new dedicated access lane for taxis and service buses and a drop-off area for passengers. Pedestrianisation of the area - previously used as the inner forecourt – will improve ease of access for the public, while further enhancements to existing security arrangements will be introduced. This will include the replacement of the temporary concrete blocks – in the wake of the attack on Glasgow Airport last year - with permanent bollards.

Work will run for around 18 weeks.
