Double success for north east in Thistle Awards shortlist

Two north east businesses have been named as shortlisted finalists for this year’s ‘tourism Oscars’, the Thistle Awards.

Huntly Peregrine Wild Watch, run by the Forestry Commission, has made the final three in the Customer Care: Visitor Attraction category, while motorbike touring company Scotlandbybike.com is a finalist in the Innovation Award, which is being sponsored by Historic Scotland.

The Thistle Awards, now in their 15th year, are recognised as one of the top accolades a tourism business can receive, and reward Scottish tourism businesses that consistently strive for quality and innovation. Over 260 entries were received for this year’s Awards and the panel of judges have been extremely impressed with the high standard of entries.

The overall winners will be announced at the glittering awards dinner at Edinburgh’s EICC on Friday 27 October.
